Our Mission
Founded in early 2009 by Kevin Workman, Liberty Lodge Outfitters is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the wounded men and women of our Armed Forces.
In July 2004, Kevin was mobilized overseas as a National Guardsman for the state of South Carolina. He spent a year in combat in Iraq and returned home wounded in 2005. Due to the injuries he sustained overseas, he was unable to return to his civilian job with the State Police in South Carolina, and was medically retired out of the Army in 2008. During his treatment at Walter Reed and Ft. Dix, NJ, he was unsure which direction to take with his life, and did not know if he would be able to return to the activities he loved so much. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman prior to the war, but felt like that was something he could never do again.
From that day forward, Kevin vowed to help other Veterans like himself heal the wounds of war. It was his dream to open a camp catering to wounded soldiers and their families. A place where they could go to hunt, fish or just relax with other people who understand what they have been through. A worry free trip at no cost to them. This year, that dream came true.
